How Does a Rotary Scrubber Work?

Factors that Affect Rotary Scrubber Retention Time

停留时间是指物料停留在旋转洗涤器中的时间, and it varies for each application. The longer the material stays in the drum, 就越容易受到内部提升器的升降作用所带来的物料对物料的摩擦.

  • Bed depth
  • Percent solids
  • Drum diameter and length
  • Specific gravity of the material
  • Tons per hour

Bed Depth

在考虑物料滞留时间时,床层深度是一个重要因素. 更深的物料床需要更长的时间才能通过滚筒到达出料端.  

The bed depth is dictated by the size of the feed and discharge openings. 一个较小的出料口将允许在物料溢出之前建立一个更深的床. 该开口可以调节得更小或更大,以通过排放端堰增加或减少保持时间. 

Percent Solids

The percent solids of the feed also has an effect on retention time. 固含量越高,料浆越厚,保留时间越长. 稠度较厚的进料需要更长的时间才能通过滚筒.

Conversely, the lower the percent solids and the more water in the slurry, the shorter the retention time. 进料中的水将有助于物料快速通过滚筒.

For optimum operation, a 50%-60% feed solids percentage is preferred. 进料中固体含量的高低会改变所需洗涤器的长度,最终影响停留时间. 

Drum Diameter and Length

滚筒本身的长度和直径对物料的整体滞留时间起作用. 滚筒直径越大、越长,滞留时间越长. 

Specific Gravity

影响旋转洗涤器保持时间的另一个因素是物料的比重. 比重较低的物料通过滚筒的速度比比重较高的物料快得多.

Sand, for example, has a specific gravity of about 2.7, where some ores can have a specific gravity of 5.0 or more. 沙子通过旋转洗涤器的速度比铁矿石快得多,因为沙子更轻,流动更容易. 

Tons Per Hour

The desired tons per hour will also affect retention time. 较高的吨位将比较低的吨位更快地通过滚筒. 

Increasing or Decreasing Retention Time

如果您需要增加或减少物料在旋转洗涤器中的保留时间, you have a few options.

首先,您可以调整位于洗涤器排出端的堰. Raising the weir will increase material retention time, as it will allow a deeper bed of material to build before discharge, 而降低堰深可以通过降低河床深度来缩短滞留时间.

第二种增加或减少停留时间的方法是调整内部提升器,以推进或阻碍物料流动. 将升降装置设置在提前位置,将物料更快地推向出料端, decreasing retention time.

The lifters can also be placed in a neutral position, 进料的自然速度将物料推向出料端. 

Ideal Retention Time

Longer retention time isn’t always better in every application. 材料的理想保留时间将根据上面列出的因素而变化:床的深度, percent solids, specific gravity, drum size and tons per hour.
